Paulsen_Assignment_1

I am from the Richmond district in San Francisco, which is close to the Presideo and the Golden Gate bridge. I personally do not know where I am going yet, but I am hoping to one day start a business and enjoy what I do. How I am going to get there is a hard question because I honestly do not have any idea how I will, but I hope my first step is to graduate from USC. My parents are opposites of each other and I think that I am like both of them in some ways or the other. Except I feel like I am more similar to my dad because he is into the same hobby/sport that I am in to and that we are both pretty optimistic. On the other hand my mom sometimes isn't as optimistic as I am. I had a expectation of going to college before college and that I wanted to go to USC. Also, my family approves of me going to college, but deep down, if I could, I would be sailing instead of going to college. I wish I could be sailing around the world racing and competing in major events or just cruising and seeing new places. Except, I feel and I kinda of wanted to get an education and be able to have degree out of college. My sailing coach from high school loves what he does and that I want to have the same passion that he does in the future job I get. Even though, coaching does not make a lot of money, he stills puts all of his efforts in to teaching people how to sail and improve their sailing ability. I feel that I am like a dolphin because of my love for the ocean. When I was younger we used to go up to my Aunt's farm close to Humboldt county and we used to take a hike through the redwood forest. In there, there was a massive tree that had fallen over and I remember how tall it was and was in disbelief how old and big these trees were.

Surfing it is fun and relaxing, which I believe everyone should have access to. I personally am not the best surfer in the world, but I can catch a wave. It is a awesome way to start your day and gives you time to think about your day or life. My idea is to have a pro gram were people from different communities come take lessons and just surf. Chuck is a part of the one percent and describes his journey through his life and his struggle with dealing with the privileges that he received from birth. He did not agree with having enough money to not work for the rest of his life and he decided to donate a majority of his wealth. He wanted to live his life to his value and not to the fact that he is very privilege and wealthy. He utilizes his privilege and wealth to start a non-profit that would help the people help fight against inequality. Except most people want this fight to be violent and out of rage towards the wealthy, but he believes that through his organization they can help peacefully facilitate the debate. A Day in a Life of a Sailing Coach One of my favorite hobbies and competitive sports is sailing. Most people have an image of a large sail boat with people drinking and wearing boat shoes, when they think sailing. Even though I like to casually sail occasionally. I especially love to race dinghies (small sailboats) competitively. I enjoy sailing so much that I coached at my yacht club for a year and a half. A sailing coach is exactly what it sounds like, a person who teaches sailing. Sailing is a very unique sport to get into and to learn because of the limited access to equipment and coaches a person might not have. At the yacht club where I coached, we provide everything a kid would need to learn to sail. I coached mainly beginner sailors who had almost no experience or not at all.
